On German maritime waterways the SBF See is mandatory for recreational boats with engines above 15 hp. For crews running observation trips, rescues or sampling at sea, it is usually the first requirement.
What does the course cover?
Navigation, seamanship, maritime traffic rules, weather and safe manoeuvring. It ends with a theory and a practical exam.
